Celebrate Christmas in Cowan!
The 50th annual Cowan Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Cookie’s Corner and proceeding down Cumberland Street through the downtown area to end at Cowan Elementary School.
The theme for the 2014 parade is “Celebrate Christmas”.
“The parade committee invites you to come out and share in the fun and excitement of the annual Christmas parade in beautiful Cowan, Tennessee. The parade with its marching bands, colorful floats, and the Shriner’s Tin Lizzie Unit marks the official start of the Cowan holiday season.”
The deadline for submitting parade entry forms is Wednesday, November 26 at 12:00 noon.
For the last 49 years, as many as 5,000 Franklin Countians and visitors from surrounding areas have enjoyed the parade and we look forward to another wonderful parade for 2014.
We are once again sponsoring the “Cowan Christmas Market” at Monterey Station on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6. We are currently selling booth spaces and will have multiple vendors with a wide variety of products. We invite everyone to visit the market and get some of your Christmas shopping done. Booths will be open for business from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6. In addition, we will offer free photos with Santa (Friday night only), face painting, entertainment, and other activities for your enjoyment during the evening. Saturday hours for vendors will be from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Santa will be present Saturday after the Parade; please bring your own camera. Everyone is invited to visit with the Grand Marshal Bo Bice before and after the parade at Monterey Station. Refreshments will be served after the parade.
