Parade Rules

The 57th Cowan Christmas Parade,

“An All-American Christmas”

Deadline for parade entries is Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at 12 noon.

The parade line up will be behind South Middle School.   All entries should be in place by 12 noon the day of the parade or face elimination.

All entries should be decorated in the parade theme.  The only exception is antique vehicles.  We encourage you to make your float as bright and colorful as possible.  In keeping with this year’s theme, you might want to show a traditional American Christmas or you may want to have a patriotic red, white and blue float!  But more importantly, we want to see your group’s personality shine through!

VERY IMPORTANT: We encourage you to have someone walking along side your float and handing out candy.

No one will get on or off an entry once the parade has started unless there is an emergency situation.

No live Santas are allowed. Santas may be depicted in other ways such as wood cut-outs, balloons, blow-ups, etc. The real Santa will be escorted at the end of the parade by the Cowan Fire Department.

No Political entries allowed.

We are allowing ATVs this year. We also encourage participation from Side by Sides, RZRs, and Rock Crawlers. We just ask they are decorated.

We do not assign numbers. Lineup will be on a first come, first serve basis, with the different categories staging at specified locations (signs will be in place) and moved into position as the parade starts at South Middle School.

Please be sure to provide a description on the application — this is what the radio announcer will use on the air.

*Face coverings are strongly encouraged.  Persons should stay home if feeling ill.  Please practice social distancing while observing and participating in the parade.
